This is a nice observation, but a few things are off with regards to evidence. maybe nothing, but figured it was worth sharing. also if its literal from the song I would assume the 'sin-sick soul' is Trevor (or maybe Michael). Based on the lyrics below, maybe if your character is hurt, one of the plants will heal them?. could this the the peyote plant(s) on the Mt.

My wife was just signing some song around the house and the main chorus was 'There is a balm in Gilead' (youtube has versions if interested). Did a search and got nothing, so here goes.
